Lend-A-Hand Pt.5

Brenda and Roger were able to go to church with me. Brenda shared greetings from Deaf Life Group in her church to the Deaf in my church.
Both groups are studying the 10 Commandments. How cool is that.

Lend-A-Hand Pt. 4

The doctors saw young and old. This man is 96 years old.

We even came across several deaf. This young lady had never been to school so had no signs to speak of. She didn´t even know her own name. How sad that makes me. Brenda gave her a name sign and taught her.

Lend-A-Hand Pt.3

Brenda and the group of teachers worked with the children. They played games, sang songs, and shared the gospel.

Before the children left for the day, gifts were handed out.

Lend-A-Hand Pt.2

The people sign in by giving their names, then head off to triage where they get their blood pressure taken and find out what symptoms they have. I translated for Roger each day. He said that he enjoyed it because I would also include cultural things he might not have thought about. I was grateful I could help.

April 2009 Lend-A-Hand Pt.1

This month a group called Lend-A-Hand Ministry came to El Salvador. Bobby and Kathryn (bottom photo) are the founders. They worked with Operation Blessing here in El Salvador. What made this team so special to me is that they are from my hometown, Virginia Beach. Even better my two friends Brenda and Roger (top photo) were on the trip. I was able to go with them 3 days to interpret.
